(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Falcons Men's Indoor Soccer team advanced to the medal round after a successful first day of the OCAA Provincial Championship in Vaughan hosted by Sheridan College.

The Falcons finished second place in their pool after round robin competition with a record of 1-0-2. In Fanshawe's first game, they avenged their OCAA Regional loss to Seneca and defeated the Sting 2-1. Goalkeeper Daniel Gonzalez (London, ON) was outstanding in net, allowing Fanshawe to secure the win. The red and white then tied the Durham Lords 2-2, with impressive goals from Juan Sebastian Gomez Galeano (London, ON) and Ibrahim Khalaf (London, ON). Fanshawe concluded the day with a 3-3 tie against the host Sheridan Bruins to lock in their spot in the final four.

On Friday, Fanshawe will face St. Clair at 11:00 a.m. in an OCAA Provincial semi-final match.
