(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Men's Basketball team was honoured with OCAA league awards today. Fifth-year Terence Williams (Windsor, ON) was selected as the OCAA West Division Defensive Player of the Year and a West Division Second Team All-Star. Aidan Whalen (Cambridge, ON) was named to the West Division All-Star First Team.

In his final season, Williams recorded the second-most steals in the league's west division, good for 2.5 steals per game. On top of his steals, Williams also led the Falcons with a 50.3 field goal percentage, 3.8 assists per game, and 4.9 defensive rebounds per game. His quick anticipation and innate ability to lock down anyone he guards is a sight to see. Williams' tremendous leadership and smart decision-making on the court played a huge part in Fanshawe's success this season.

Whalen led the Birds in points per game (16.7) and rebounds per game (6.7) this season. Whalen recorded nine 20-point games and two double-doubles within 16 games. After three strong seasons with the Falcons, Whalen has recorded the 6^th most rebounds (309) in Fanshawe's Men's Basketball history. He has also cracked the top ten for the most points scored all-time (715). Whalen's hustle and superb sportsmanship personifies the true meaning of an excelling student-athlete.

Unfortunately, Fanshawe's (11-7, 5^th West) season came to an end last Saturday as they were defeated 86-73 by the Centennial Colts (14-5, 4^th East) in a crossover playoff game.
