(London, Ontario) – The Falcons Men's Basketball squad (11-4) were victorious once again over the Sault Cougars (0-13) on Sunday afternoon. Fanshawe won by a final score of 101-57.

Hanani Ujullu (Kitchener, ON) started the game strong for the Falcons, scoring 7 points and grabbing 7 rebounds in the opening quarter. Alfred Johnson (London, ON) did a great job getting to the rim to put the home team up 27-14 after the first frame.

In the second quarter, Mohamed Alor (Winnipeg, MB) hustled for the offensive rebound and put-back to keep Fanshawe rolling. Five straight points from D'Andre Austin (Toronto, ON) made the score 51-23 going into the half time break.

Back-to-back triples from Johnson and Carter Hawthornthwaite (London, ON) got the Falcons off to a 6-0 start in the third quarter. Fanshawe shut down the Cougars offense and went on an 18-2 run in the first five minutes of the second half. Going into the final frame, the score was 81-39 in favour of the red and white.

Local first-year guard Kuek Duol hit a pair of three point shots in the fourth quarter for the Falcons. Austin continued to be a force for Fanshawe, showing his presence with rebounds and by getting to the foul line. Austin had a game-high 19 points for the Falcons. It was a good team win, as every Fanshawe player got on the score sheet in the 101-57 victory.

Fanshawe will take the court again on Thursday, January 31 at home against the Mohawk Mountaineers (5-8). Tip-off is scheduled for 8pm.
