(London, Ontario) – At the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre on Saturday evening, the Falcons Men's Basketball team (10-4) defeated the Sault Cougars (0-12) by a final score of 121-55. The game rounded out Fanshawe Athletics annual Falcons Fest quadruple header event. Fanshawe swept the day as all four teams came out victorious. In the night cap, Zach Soltis (Cambridge, ON) had an incredible game, recording a career high 31 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists. The 17 rebounds ties a Falcons Men's Basketball single-game rebounding record.

Fanshawe guard Chris Parker (Toledo, OH) started the game on fire with two quick shots from behind the arc. The Falcons jumped out to a quick lead with yet another three pointer from Carter Hawthornthwaite (London, ON). Pressure defense stretched the score to 33-14 after the first quarter for the red and white.

In the second quarter, the home team saw points from Salim Bagabe (Kitchener, ON) and Alfred Johnson (London, ON). Zach Soltis (Cambridge, ON) hit a shot clock buzzer beater as the Falcons continued to be hot from behind the arc. At half time, Fanshawe had hit 10 triples (52.6%) and held a 64-32 lead.

The Falcons continued to soar in the second half with Johnson flying for a dunk that got the home crowd on their feet. Marquise Lara-Caston (Windsor, ON) then had an offensive rebound and layup to extend Fanshawe's lead to 97-46 after the third frame.

Soltis took over the game in the fourth quarter, controlling the glass and getting to the rim. The Falcons attack was too much for the Cougars to handle and Fanshawe went on to win the game 121-55. The Falcons shot an impressive 55% from the field on the game and had 69 bench points.

The Falcons will play again tomorrow versus the Sault at 3pm.
