(London, Ontario) – The Falcons Men's Basketball team (1-1) picked up their first victory of the season at home on Wednesday night over the Lambton Lions (1-1) by a score of 92-78. Chris Parker (Toledo, OH) set a new Fanshawe Men's Basketball single game scoring record with an incredible 48 points.

In the opening quarter, Hanani Ujullu (Kitchener, ON) got the Falcons on the board with a shot from behind the arc. Lambton responded with a 3-pointer, followed by a strong drive to the basket. Fanshawe point guard Xavier Ellis (Hamilton, ON) added four points at the charity stripe, however Lambton held a 16-14 lead after the first frame.

The second quarter began with a put-back from Parker. He would then score again when a nice pass from rookie Marquise Lara-Caston (Windsor, ON) resulted in fast break points for the home team. Fanshawe outscored the Lions 26-12 in the second frame to go up 40-28 at half time.

The Lions were ready to play in the third quarter, as they went on an 8-0 run. Lambton took a 54-53 lead on a steal that resulted in a pair of made free throws. Parker would respond with a layup to retake the lead.

In the fourth frame Parker was on fire for the Falcons, knocking down back-to-back triples. Zach Soltis (Cambridge, ON) then capitalized in transition, getting to the rim for a bucket as Fanshawe started to pull away. Midway through the fourth quarter, Parker hit his seventh 3-pointer of the game and set a new Fanshawe Men's Basketball single game scoring record. The previous record of 36 was held by Jemaul Jones (2015-16). Parker finished the game with 48 points on 59% shooting, including being 8/11 from three point range.

Fanshawe's next game will be on Saturday, October 27, when they travel to Kitchener to take on the Conestoga Condors (0-2).
