OCAA Announces Softball League Award Winners

(London, Ontario) – At the OCAA Provincial Softball Championship banquet on Thursday evening, two Fanshawe Falcons Softball student-athletes were honoured for their accomplishments this season as the OCAA handed out their 2019 Softball league awards. 

 

Morgan LowryOCAA Softball Rookie of the Year: 

Fanshawe first year Morgan Lowry (Middlesex-Centre, ON), had an impressive season with the Falcons. She made an immediate impact both at the plate and on the mound. Lowry led the OCAA in strikeouts per game with an outstanding 8.81 and was third in the OCAA with a 1.56 ERA. She also recorded 14 hits, 9 RBIs and 8 runs in her debut season. This is the second consecutive season that a Falcon has been named the OCAA Softball Rookie of the Year (Nichole Erb, 2018)

 

Kennedi RothOCAA Softball League All-Star: 

Kennedi Roth (Stratford, ON) was one of the most valuable Falcons in the 2019 season. The second-year played both outfield and shortstop for Fanshawe. Roth led the team and was top five in the OCAA in hits (35) and runs (31). She also had a league-high 21 stolen bases on the season and a .432 batting average.

 

Fanshawe Athletics will be hosting the OCAA Provincial Softball Championship from October 18-19 at Alumni Field.
