Falcons Softball Brings Home OCAA Bronze Medal

(London, Ontario) – On Saturday morning at the OCAA Softball Championship in Kitchener, ON, the Fanshawe Falcons fell to the St. Clair Saints 15-5 in six innings. Despite the semi-final loss, Fanshawe took home the 2018 OCAA bronze medal.

 

In day one of the Championship on Friday, Fanshawe fell to the Saints in their quarterfinal game by a close score of 5-4. The player of the game for the Falcons was OCAA Rookie of the Year Nichole Erb (Monkton, ON), who had five strikeouts in 3.2 innings pitched. The red and white then faced the Humber Hawks and won 10-2 to advance to the semi-final, once again against St. Clair. Emily Davis (London, ON) was named player of the game in game two, going 3 for 4 at the plate with 3 RBIs and 2 runs.

 

In Saturday's semi-final game against the Saints, Fanshawe fell 15-5 to capture the OCAA bronze medal. Jacey Lochert (Bellwood, ON) and Mackenzie Kelly (Oil Springs, ON) went 2 for 3 at the plate with an RBI. Falcon rookie Kennedi Roth (Stratford, ON) was named player of the game and Lochert was named a Tournament All-Star.
