Tester Named an OCAA Star of the Week

TORONTO - The following student-athletes have been recognized by the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) for their accomplishments during the seven-day period ending on Sunday, March 15:

 

Owen Tester
School: Fanshawe
Program: Business
Year of Eligibility: 3
Sport: Curling
Hometown: Fort McMurray, Alta.
Tester was named a Championship Second-Team All-Star for his play at last week's nationals in Portage La Prairie, Man. The third-year second helped lead Fanshawe to a national bronze medal, its sixth Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association medal in nine years. The Falcons went 5-2 in the round robin, dropping a competitive 9-7 decision to OCAA rival Humber in the national semi-finals. Fanshawe rebounded nicely in the bronze medal match, defeating NAIT 12-5. Tester was also named a Championship Second-Team All-Star at last month's provincials.
