(London, Ontario) – Fanshawe Athletics has opened a new golf simulator that is now available to Fanshawe students.

The Foresight Sports GCHawk golf simulator is the first one of its kind in a Canadian post-secondary institution. Located along Fanshawe's J-Building hallway, the GCHawk is an overhead-mounted launch monitor that delivers a high level of freedom and flexibility. Fanshawe's simulator offers more than 50 golf courses to choose from including world renowned Pebble Beach. The simulator also has nine or 18-hole options, live competitions with real prizes, Zombie Golf and a driving range. The golf simulator along with a set of golf clubs and golf balls are available for Student Wellness Centre student members to use free of charge.

"The GCHawk is a very exciting new addition to our recreation options for our students and is yet another first class addition to our Athletics facilities", stated Manager of Athletics, Nathan McFadden. "This golf simulator has many fun options and is able to be used by beginners, recreational and more advanced players".

The state of the art golf simulator will also serve as the indoor training centre for the Falcons Golf team. The Fanshawe Golf team is coming off of their most successful season ever, capturing four OCAA medals, including three titles and one CCAA medal. The Falcons will begin their 2019-20 season on Saturday, September 14, at their host invitational at FireRock Golf Club.
