McFadden Named OCAA President

(London, Ontario) – Fanshawe Athletics, in conjunction with the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA), announced today that Nathan McFadden, Manager of Athletics at Fanshawe College, was elected President of the OCAA at the Association's Annual General Meetings (AGM) held last week in Toronto.

 

McFadden's role began at the conclusion of the OCAA's AGM on May 9 and will see him serve on the OCAA's Senior Leadership Council for a two-year term. He will also serve on the OCAA's Board of Directors and as the Chairperson of the OCAA.

 

"I am extremely honoured to serve our membership in this position and work with such a respected group of leaders on our Senior Leadership Council," said McFadden. "It is a privilege to serve in this role and be a part of our Association's continued growth and success going forward."

 

McFadden has led Fanshawe's Athletics Department since December, 2012. During that time, the Fanshawe Athletics program has excelled, leading the OCAA in Academic All-Canadians on three occasions and accumulating a total of 110 medals, including 29 Provincial Championships and Fanshawe record nine National Championships. The 2018-19 season was the Falcons most successful in their 52-year history, winning a combined 28 provincial and national medals, and leading the country with 13 championships. Fanshawe Athletics currently supports 19 teams, 250 student-athletes and one of the largest post-secondary recreation programs in Canada.
