Five Fanshawe Falcons Teams Crack the Top Ten Nationally

(London, Ontario) – Five Fanshawe Falcons varsity teams made the Nation's top ten in this week's Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) weekly rankings.

 

The Women's and Men's Cross Country teams moved up in this week's CCAA rankings. The Women moved up one spot to #3, after winning the OCAA Championship. The Falcons are led by Janelle Hanna (Peterborough, ON), who also captured the Individual title.

 

The Men's team jumped from #9 last week to #7 this week after claiming the OCAA silver medal at Provincials. On November 10, Fanshawe will compete in the CCAA Cross Country National Championships in Toronto, hosted by Seneca College.

 

In the first edition of the 2018-19 CCAA Volleyball and Basketball rankings, the Fanshawe Men's Volleyball team are ranked #1 in the Nation. The Falcons have started their season 3-0, and return the majority of last season's roster, who brought home the CCAA silver medal.

 

The Women's Volleyball squad is also 3-0 this season, good for 9th in the CCAA rankings. The Falcons swept #13 nationally ranked St. Clair on the road Wednesday evening in Windsor.

 

Lastly, the Fanshawe Women's Basketball team has been ranked #2 in Canada, their highest ranking in their history. The Falcons opened regular season play with a 79-51 win over the defending national champion Humber Hawks, ending their OCAA 81-game win streak. Fanshawe is now 4-0 in league play and will next face West Division rival St. Clair Saints at home on Tuesday, November 6 at 6pm.
