(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Basketball teams will begin their 2018-19 regular season at home this Friday, October 19 against the Humber Hawks. The Women's game will tip off at 6pm, followed by the Men at 8pm at the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre.

Both teams will be warming up in ONERUN shirts in honour of those who have lost their battle to cancer and to support those who continue to fight. ONERUN is a cancer fundraiser that supports cancer patients and their families in London and surrounding areas.

The Women's game will be a rematch of last season's OCAA final, when the Falcons fell to the eventual national champions 69-54. Fanshawe returns a core group of veterans including 2017-18 OCAA First Team All-Star Chuot Angou (London, ON), Championship All-Star Mikhaila Wright (London, ON) and 2016-17 Second Team All-Stars Natalie Warren (London, ON) and Laura Vere (Stratford, ON).

The Men's squad will look to improve on last season's 11-9 record with the return of 2017-18 OCAA Second Team All-Star Chris Parker (Toledo, OH). Local forward Alfred Johnson is also back in the lineup for the Falcons after a year off due to injury. Fanshawe is coming off of a successful weekend, winning the Durham College exhibition tournament, with third-year guard Salim Bagabe (Kitchener, ON) being named tournament MVP.

General admission tickets are $5 per person, with free admission for kids under six and Fanshawe students with their valid Fanshawe student ID. Tickets purchased at the gate are cash only and will be available at the entrance of the Glenn Johnston Athletics Centre on Falcons game days, one hour prior to game time. Season passes will also be available at all home games and are $35 each.
