The Fanshawe  Falcons Men's Baseball team went 1-3 in their debut weekend. On Saturday, the Falcons fell to Humber by scores of 7-3 and 13-0 (5 innings) and on Sunday, split games with Durham by scores of 3-2 (8 innings) and 7-0.

In the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, the Hawks got off to a 4-0 lead after the fifth inning. The Hawks would add three more runs in the top of the seventh before the Falcons got on the board. Fanshawe rookie Darren Dwyer (West Montrose, ON) had a two-run triple in the bottom of the seventh to score the Falcons first runs of the OCAA season. Kevin Bowden (London, ON) then added a single to score Dwyer. Unfortunately, the Hawks would go on to win the game 7-3.

The Falcons struggled at the plate in game two. Humber started off scoring a run in the first inning, then added seven runs in the second inning and never looked back. The Hawks went on to win 13-0 in five innings.

On Sunday against the Durham Lords, the Falcons got on the board first with a single by Kevin Bowden scoring Dwyer. In the top of the fifth inning, Fanshawe rookie pitcher Noah Campagnolo (Guelph, ON) had three straight strikeouts to keep the Lords scoreless. Durham then scored two, but the Falcons responded with a double to right field by Dwyer, scoring Matt Bowden (London, ON) to tie it up 2-2. The teams would both go scoreless in the seventh, forcing extra innings. In the eighth inning, Falcons pitcher Stephen Barclay (Markham, ON) struck out the side to give the home team a chance to put the game away. A sacrifice bunt from Fanshawe's Josh Hare (St. Thomas, ON) moved Jake Watters (Cottam, ON) to third base. Matt Bowden then executed a squeeze bunt that scored Watters to claim the Falcons' first victory of the 2018 season. The winning pitcher for the Falcons was Barclay (1-0).
