Cindy Huras was the head coach of the Fanshawe College Badminton team for eight seasons from 2000-2008. During her tenure, the badminton team collected five OCAA gold medals, one OCAA silver medal, three OCAA bronze medals, and one OCAA overall team championship. Huras was also named the CCAA Ontario Team Coach for the 2006-07 season. As a player, Huras was a Junior Pan Am player for Team Canada in 1977-78, was ranked in the top 10 in Canada in 1978-79 and was part of the Ontario Winter Games in 1984-85. Huras went on to teach and certify coaches through Badminton Ontario and the National Coaching Certification Program as a course conductor.
