D'Hollander complete the recreation and Leisure Program at Fanshawe College in 1979. He was a three-sport athlete in men's soccer, men's doubles badminton and tennis. He was the back-to-back MVP for the soccer team in 1977-78 and 1978-79, where they won the OCAA Provincial Championship in back-to-back seasons. He also won the OCAA Championship for Mixed Doubles Tennis (with Debbie Woodhouse) and helped Fanshawe win Team Gold at the OCAA Badminton Championships. After D'Hollander's three OCAA gold medals in 1979, he was named the Male Athlete of the Year at Fanshawe College. D'Hollander went on to become the head coach of the men's outdoor and indoor soccer teams at Fanshawe College. He was named the OCAA and CCAA Men's Soccer Coach of the Year for the 2008-09 men's outdoor soccer season. D'Hollander was the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award at Fanshawe College for his contributions to society in a substantial was as well as achieving a great deal of career success.
